Covid made us rediscover values, including that of travelling No one was expecting 2020 to become the year when the world stood still.
The ‘Covid experience’ made us reflect, made us understand how easy it is to take certain aspects of our life for granted. First of all, how precarious our stay here, on this beautiful Earth, is. Secondly, how essential and valuable it is to have the freedom to see our friends and family as often as we want – whenever we want.
And the possibility of travelling with the same freedom, to discover new territories and cultures.
Now that things seem to be getting back to normal (or to a different normal) we all feel the desire to recover what we lost last year, to have new experiences, to see the world.

The importance of supporting local trade
Among the actors who have suffered the greatest damage from the restrictions imposed by the pandemic are local businesses.
For this reason, for 2022 travel it is recommended to support local trade, to give tourism a boost!
Here are some suggestions:
Consume local – from the precious souvenirs made by artisans in Barcelona to the clothing industry where you will find a great offer of Made in Barcelona.
Boutique hotels – search for peculiar stays, like a hotel inside of a Roman tower of surveillance from 2000 years ago, to a Modernist hotel which maintains de design, decor and furniture from 1900.
Restaurants – search for places that are promoting the local products, using proximity and sustainable produce.
Tour guides – no big companies where the majority of the benefits go to the International brands and no free tours since the quality of the information is not guaranteed.

Each day I see more demand for hikes or little walks in nature, and for such think, I recommend Montserrat. The perfect Day trip where you can explore the Catalan culture by visiting the Benedictine Monastery of Montserrat, and combining it with one of the multiple hiking route on the peculiar mountain.
